Overview

About NVU

New Vision University (NVU) is a private, non-profit university in Tbilisi, founded in 2013. Its main campus is at 11 Nodar Bokhua Street. NVU also lists a Health Hub at Bokhua 9 and the NVU University Hospital at Lubliana 13 and Chiaureli 6, which is its main setting for clinical teaching.

NVU's published international tuition is US$7,000 a year for the six-year MD and the five-year Dental Medicine (DMD) programme, and US$4,500 a year for its English Bachelor's programmes in nursing, pharmacy, business administration, and political science and international relations, and for its MBA.

Why students choose NVU

A university hospital as the clinical base
NVU's MD document names the NVU University Hospital and the NVU Clinical, Research and Teaching Centers as the predominant clinical setting, with NVU-affiliated clinics alongside.
Active-learning MD curriculum
The 360-ECTS MD is built as a four-loop spiral (120, 60, 120 and 60 ECTS). NVU lists problem-based, team-based and case-based learning, simulation and 3D-based learning, bedside learning and night shifts among its methods.
Medicine and dentistry in English
English-taught MD and Dental Medicine programmes sit alongside Nursing Care, Pharmacy, Business Administration and Political Science and International Relations.
A clear online admission process
NVU says it holds an online interview within seven days of receiving a complete application and then issues a Conditional Offer Letter. It handles the NCEQE recognition request for international applicants.

Admission

How to apply to NVU

You do not apply to NVU yourself. Contact us and we handle the application for you. Below are the requirements the university sets. Foreign applicants who finished school abroad skip Georgia's national exams, but need their education recognised by NCEQE.

  • NVU's steps: complete the application and send it with copies of your documents. NVU arranges an online interview within seven days of receiving the application, confirms you meet the requirements and sends a Conditional Offer Letter.
  • After you pay the initial tuition, NVU asks NCEQE to recognise your foreign education so you can enrol without the Unified National Examinations. It then issues the enrolment document and an Unconditional Offer Letter, which is the invitation to Georgia.
  • MD entry: a secondary school certificate, proof of B2 English and either an MCAT result or a Biology and Chemistry knowledge certification. Dental Medicine asks for B2 English and the university's Biology and Chemistry exam or certification. Nursing and Pharmacy ask for a B2 English certificate (IELTS, TOEFL or FCE), your passport and an online interview.
  • International MD students complete 372 ECTS: the standard 360 plus 12 credits of Georgian language.

Accommodation

Where NVU students live

NVU's pages do not confirm a university dormitory. Most international students rent shared apartments in Tbilisi. Check the route between your housing, the Bokhua Street campus and the hospital before you sign a lease, because rents change by district. Ask for current housing help in writing.

Lifestyle

Student life in Tbilisi

Tbilisi is Georgia's capital and by far its largest city, with over a million residents. Most of the country's English-taught medical, dental and business programmes are based here, so it has the biggest international student community, the widest choice of housing and the best-connected hospitals.

Around NVU

NVU is a private non-profit university in Tbilisi, and its health-science students split their time between the Bokhua Street campus and the university hospital.

The Student Services Center runs orientation for newly arrived students, so you are not working out documents and registration alone in the first weeks.

Getting around
A two-line metro, buses and shared minibuses cover most of the city. A single ride costs about 1 lari and a monthly pass is typically 40-50 lari, so most students never need a car. Ride-hailing apps such as Bolt and Yandex Go are widely used for late-night trips.
Climate
Hot summers, cold winters with occasional snow, and mild spring and autumn. Student housing is centrally heated or gas-heated, so pack a proper winter coat rather than thermal layers.
Food and daily costs
Georgian staples such as khachapuri, khinkali and lobio are inexpensive, and supermarkets and open-air markets sell everyday groceries cheaply. Vegetarian options are easy to find because fasting traditions mean most restaurants offer meat-free dishes. South Asian restaurants and grocers have opened in the city.
Safety and community
Georgia is widely regarded as a safe country for students, with the usual city precautions applying at night and in crowded places. Tbilisi has a large international student community, which makes settling in much easier in the first semester.
