Overview

About EEU

East European University (EEU) is a private university at 6 Irina Enukidze Street in Tbilisi, near the US Embassy. It was established in 2012, began teaching in September 2013 and has offered doctoral programmes since 2015. EEU says it runs 24 accredited programmes across four faculties: Law and Social Sciences, Business and Engineering, Education Sciences and Healthcare Sciences.

English-taught options for international students are a six-year Medical Doctor (MD) programme, a four-year Bachelor of Nursing, a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), a one-year MBA and a Master's in Digital Management. EEU lists the MD at US$6,000 a year on its programme page.

Why students choose EEU

Open Heart University Hospital
EEU's campus includes the Open Heart University Hospital, which EEU uses for clinical teaching alongside partner hospitals across Tbilisi.
Clinical Skills Centre
A teaching centre with simulation classrooms, OSCE stations, laboratories, 3D anatomy and debriefing rooms, used for both the MD and the nursing programme.
Clinical rotations from year four
EEU says MD students rotate through clinical bases from the fourth year and that the sixth year is fully clinical. Its published list of clinical bases names Gudushauri, Kipshidze, Tbilisi Central, Bochorishvili, Eristavi and Mardaleishvili, among others.
European affiliations
EEU is a full member of the European University Association. Germany's ACQUIN agency accredited its business administration programmes, including the English MBA, until 30 September 2032, according to its 2026 report.
Housing help and airport pickup
EEU's international office offers shared flats near campus at about US$80 to US$100 a month and an airport pickup service on arrival.

Tuition is the figure published by the university or the national Study in Georgia portal at the time of review and can change between intakes. Always get the current fee schedule in writing before you pay anything.

EEU also lists an English Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at US$4,000 a year, but its own documents give both three and four years for it, so we leave it out of the table until EEU confirms the length. EEU's older fee page also lists an English Pharmacy Bachelor's programme at US$3,500 a year, but Pharmacy is not on EEU's current English programmes list. Ask whether either is open for your intake.

Admission

How to apply to EEU

You do not apply to EEU yourself. Contact us and we handle the application for you. Below are the requirements the university sets. Foreign applicants who finished school abroad skip Georgia's national exams, but need their education recognised by NCEQE.

  • EEU's admission page asks for copies of your passport, your high school certificate with grades (or a Bachelor's degree for Master's programmes), an English certificate if you have one and NEET results for MD applicants from India. If you have no English certificate, you sit EEU's English test.
  • For the MD, EEU requires English at ALTE B2 level, and international applicants are admitted without the Unified National Examinations. The Bachelor of Nursing asks for at least B1 English, and the MBA asks for B2 English and a subject interview.
  • EEU's international office issues the acceptance and invitation letters used for the D3 visa. EEU says the first-year fee is paid in two instalments, and it refunds the fee, less bank charges, if the Ministry rejects your enrolment or the visa is refused and your documents had no gaps.

Where EEU students live

EEU says it offers international students accommodation near the campus, in shared flats at about US$80 to US$100 a month, and an airport pickup service. It estimates living costs in Georgia at US$2,000 to US$3,000 a year. Ask for the current flat prices and the booking steps in writing.

Lifestyle

Student life in Tbilisi

Tbilisi is Georgia's capital and by far its largest city, with over a million residents. Most of the country's English-taught medical, dental and business programmes are based here, so it has the biggest international student community, the widest choice of housing and the best-connected hospitals.

Around EEU

EEU's main campus on Enukidze Street is in the Vake-Saburtalo area, near David Agmashenebeli Alley and the US Embassy, and it has a second campus on Futkaradze Street.

The student body includes local and international students from Europe, Asia and other regions. The campus has a library, a café with an open terrace and sports and recreation areas.

Getting around
A two-line metro, buses and shared minibuses cover most of the city. A single ride costs about 1 lari and a monthly pass is typically 40-50 lari, so most students never need a car. Ride-hailing apps such as Bolt and Yandex Go are widely used for late-night trips.
Climate
Hot summers, cold winters with occasional snow, and mild spring and autumn. Student housing is centrally heated or gas-heated, so pack a proper winter coat rather than thermal layers.
Food and daily costs
Georgian staples such as khachapuri, khinkali and lobio are inexpensive, and supermarkets and open-air markets sell everyday groceries cheaply. Vegetarian options are easy to find because fasting traditions mean most restaurants offer meat-free dishes. South Asian restaurants and grocers have opened in the city.
Safety and community
Georgia is widely regarded as a safe country for students, with the usual city precautions applying at night and in crowded places. Tbilisi has a large international student community, which makes settling in much easier in the first semester.

  • EEU's own pages disagree on the MD fee (US$6,000 on the programme page, US$5,000 on an older fee page). Get the fee in writing before you pay.
  • The Bachelor of Nursing began in March 2026. Confirm international eligibility, the intake date and the fee.
  • If you want the BBA, confirm its length (EEU documents show both three and four years) and what the fee includes.
